Antoineo Harris Undrafted, Now a Charger

Antoineo Harris, a 5-11, 227 pound running back out of Illinois, joins the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent.

Antoineo Harris is a punishing inside runner with great muscle mass and an attacking style of running. He is not an outside runner as he lacks the explosion to turn the corner and is not a huge threat as a receiver, nabbing just 22 recpetions in his career at Illinois.

Harris earned the Most Valuable Player award after setting the Illinois single-season rushing record with 1,330 yards in 2002 as a senior, breaking the record set by Robert Holcombe in 1996.

He carried the rock 676 times for 2,945 yards (4.4 avg.) and 22 touchdowns in 45 games for the Illini.

Harris is a good blocker and could find a role as a short yardage back as he is known to simply bull over defenders with his short legs driving forward.

Harris has had some nagging problems with his legs in the past and he suffered a broken wrist in 2002, all of which contributed to him going undrafted.
